A-level french options advice

hello guys, i just want to know whether taking A level french is worth it? personally i enjoy learning languages and i am really interested in french i want to be able to speak it fluently however when i had a look at the A level french specification, it didn't seem as i am learning a language, it seemed as if i am taking history, english literature and socioligy all combined but in French, Personally those three subjects i loathe so to anyone who took a level french or AS french, could you please tell whether its hard, worth it or should i consider studying another subject. i have another option which is to contuinue learning french but outside school like i could take extra lessons just to imporve my french. i am down to hear all your recommendations.
