A level English lit coursework

I was thinking of comparing “The catcher in the rye” and “the picture of Dorian grey” for my coursework. Anyone else done Pearson a level English lit ?? Is that a good choice of books or what else could I compare ?? Thanks !!

It really depends on what you want to compare the books on. I did Dorian Gray for the prose exam per of English Lit but it was compared to Dracula due to the supernatural element. If you manage to find an overarching theme that you really want to base your coursework on, it will help to choose the best books. If both Dorian Gray and The Catcher in the Rye share the theme you want to talk about but enough differences to make a balanced argument, then that’s probably the best choice to stick with.
