Does anyone know whether you can apply to both St. Andrews A100 and A990? Which one is easier to get into if I am Canadian? Thanks

A990 should be easier as it is strictly reserved for Canadian citizens and those with Cdn permanent residency. I believe you can apply to both A100 and A990 though. My son is at St A in the A990 programme and it is IMHO a very good programme at a top notch university and med school.

Thanks so much for your reply. I applied to A990 in the end. Would you be able to tell me when their interview would be? is it like interview between Dec to Feb and then decision in March? Many thanks

Going from memory it was a bit later than the other UK med schools for interviews. I think some of the UK meds started interviews in Dec and I believe St A's was mid-early Jan (can't remember exactly) for A990 but A100s had some interviews early than that. Offers took a while longer as well. In the end I think it was the right choice (my son was choosing between other med schools in UK/Ireland, top US schools, direct entry dental in the US, and the Cdn Mac/Queens heathsci path). Good luck on your studies/application. St A's Med is very selective and its competitive so best of luck!

I want to know too. I'm also wondering how many applied this year - it's been very hard to connect with others who have applied to this program.

Mine is not high either - 2730 B2. What about you? I really want to know what the stats were like in the last couple of years, like what was the average percentage
