can I do anything else (apart from medicine) with my subject choice?

HL: Bio, Chem, Business
SL: Math AI, English A, French B
Predicted: 35 (TOK +EE)

I chose these subjects initially as I wanted to do medicine. I later realised that medicine woulnd't be a good fit for me and now Im absolutely clueless as to what i want to do.

My math AI is an absolute buzzkill when applying as I can't apply for 3/4 of programs and it doesn't help that I dont have the best predicted due to personal issues which dispruted my entire IBDP 1. I was always good at maths and i was urged multiple times to switch but due to the personal issues I didn't want to have an extra topping. But now its solved and for sure im aiming for much higher for the actual IB.

Im quite extroverted and I find myself really enjoying debates (like MUN) and activities which require to be communicating to other people. I dont however like the arts so that rules out a ton of potential degrees as well.

If you have any recommendations, Ill gladly listen!

With bio + chem HL I'd say science/biochemistry/biomedicine/related subjects will be a good fit (but depends on whether they accept MAI)
I'm in IB year 2 and successfully applied to medicine. Bio and Chem HL as well, but I also took MAA HL and Chinese B HL, so I'd say I had a similar experience with you. If medicine is not fit for you, try something similar to that. Otherwise, you can always take a broad-based major like science and specialise in research or masters afterwards.

Ooo i did look into that but ill dig more into! thanks for the reply
This might be different from your initial path, but have you looked into any law/pre-law courses? Although subjects such as history may help, they're not always necessary and many universities allow you to take any course as a pre-law course as long as you fulfil the requirements. You could be a pre-law student while majoring in biochemistry/biomedical sciences or even business.

Alternatively, I think you can apply for criminal justice and forensic science, and this would allow you to go into the research field and become a crime scene investigator or simply a forensic scientist if you prefer the lab.

Regardless of what you end up selecting, I'm glad you're aware of your passions and I hope you find a career that works for you, good luck!

Hey there!

I have looked and thought about law and was encouraged by my parents to try it but I didn’t think I could do it as I didn’t have history nor English at higher level, which was the universities I looked into wanted.

I haven’t heard of pre-law before but I’m definitely going to research that and learn more!
Also I’ll give the idea of forensics a bigger thought as I shut it down pretty quick before.

Thank you so much for your reply!
You could look at biochem or biomed, if it interests you.

ill pass on biochem as but I guess I can re assess the idea of biomed. I was too quick to reject biomed as I thought I wouldn't meet the entry requirements with my predicted but after a quick search I can see I do!

Thanks for idea and for your reply!

Hey!
It was 36 at the start of the year but now after mocks its 35. It barely meets the like of Edinburgh but predicted doesn't matter much anymore considering the IB exams are near.
