Private renting as a mature student- where is best and what is a reasonable price?

I am a mature student (24) with two young kids. I live on the south coast of the uk and looking to re-locate with the bonus of uni being the excuse.
I am looking to move to private rented before I accept my place at Glasgow but I am so overwhelmed. I can't drive and will have one child in nursery and one in primary school. Where is the best area to live in proximity to the Law buildings of the university whilst not being crazy money? I need at least a two bed but looking online they are all student lets.
Any other advice would be amazing too!

I'd recommend looking at places on the train line that serves Partick station (try Anniesland and Dennistoun), it's walking distance to the uni but also has a subway so if the weather's horrendous you can take the subway to hillhead and be round the corner from campus. Most areas on the subway line are either not very affordable or not the best area, though kinning park is worth a look.
