Can you work as a support worker while being a registered nurse?

Hi

I am due to start my new job as a registered mental health nurse. I was wondering could I bank as a band 2 till I pass my perceptorship? The reason so I will be making about 800 less as a nurse sticking to full time hours as when I bank I do a lot of hours in the week and utilise enhancements.

I can’t find ANYTHING on the nmc. Most of the stuff online people’s opinions of it some saying you can or some saying you can’t but I can’t any official text from the NMC on this matter.

Also it will be a completely different trust to where I am working as a nurse.

Yes you can

however you will find it is a VERY awkward situation as you with simultaneously be held to the standards of an RN but required no to exceed your scope of practice as a HCA ...

Thank you for your reply

I understand. It will only be till I can get on the bank as a nurse.
