ADVICE: MSc Stats w/ Data Science (Edin) or MSc Economics (UCL) for ER (or quant)
Hey people, I’m really pulling my hair out over this one and thought I’d see if anyone has any insights that could help me figure out what to do.
I’ve got offers for the above programmes alongside an internship for equity research over the summer. Although ER seems like a good solid/safe option, I’m really interested in quant trading and computational methods more generally. I’m wondering if I should go with stats as to open the door to transitioning to a quant role in the future 🤔 But, postgrad economics at UCL is probably a more prestigious course in general?
Can anyone shed some light on which course is better for the generalised financial industry prospects?
