Warwick: PPE BSc vs Bath: BSc Economics (Hons)

Having qualified for unconditional offers, holding conditional offers, from the University of Warwick for the course of Philosophy, Politics and Economics and from the University of Bath an offer for BSc Economics Hons, I was wondering which better? Weighing the different universities against the different courses, which is a better choice?

They are both good universities but the Warwick Economics courses have a very strong reputation. However you will be diluting the economics with philosophy and politics so it really comes down to whether you prefer the generalist PPE ( very well regarded course ) or you want to be seen as a more specialist Econ graduate.

Warwick is defo the stronger uni in this area both are campus Bath probably wins on location but as a Bristolian I find Bath twee- Warwick is close enough to Birmingham…

Full disclosure I had an offer for PPE to start last year which I rejected because a) I wanted a gap year b) I decided I did not want to go to a campus uni c) I thought I might go for straight Econ.

I thought the PPE at Warwick very strong !

Anyway I could not secure a straight Econ at UCL / Edinburgh or Leeds. Now have an offer for Arts and Sciences at UCL which does not have the pedigree of PPEbut allows you to combine s mathsy Econ major with other minor modules ( American style)

I think both your offers for Econ are better !!!
