Coventry University ADDvantage Modules & Degree classifiation for PGCE

I graduated from Coventry University with a 2:1 degree in fine arts, but it remained unclassified as I did not complete a 10 credit addvantage module. Do these modules comprise part of the 360 credits for a degree? As for all of my degree work for my core course I achieved high 2:1s.
I was going through a very difficult time in my third year, and could not handle taking on another class. From what I remember (I graduated in 2013) these modules were compulsory but unrelated to my course.

Does this missing addvantage module mean my degree is invalid for applying for a pgce? My transcript & degree certificate have not arrived yet, and I don't want to get my hopes up about further study.

Any help would be very welcome

Hi I’m in a similar situation how were you able to graduate without the 360 credits ? I’m concerned of not being able because I got the same issue with a addvantage module

Hi there, Coventry University Student Ambassador here! 👋

You should always be given the opportunity to resit a module. If you are facing difficulties, I highly recommend reaching out to your module leader to discuss what options you may have. According to the university's handbook, "You are required to take and pass at least one Add+vantage module in each of the three years of your course. Failure to do so will impact negatively on your degree."

I also recommend checking out the academic regulations corresponding to your chosen course. Additionally, please try reaching out to Student Engagement for further support and guidance—we don't want you having issues with your graduation! Hope this helps, and please let me know if you're still struggling.
