what is the difference between applied biomedical science and biomedical science?

hiii is there a major difference between applied biomedical science and biomedical science? i found a degree apprenticeship that does applied Biomed will this affect my goal to become a biomedical scientist who specialises in immunology? and will it be better for me to do the degree apprenticeship in applied biomed or should I just get a degree in biomedical science?
Thank you
If you can get an apprenticeship then I would 100% recommend that route for several reasons:

1. You get paid and your university are covered.
2. No student loan (so when you start working that money other graduates pay back you get to keep)
3. You'll get your HCPC registration as part of the course and so you can immediately apply for band 5 roles as a biomedical scientist.
4. You'll finish with four years of work experience.

Honestly I can't think of a good reason to do the degree rather than an apprenticeship.
