joint-masters to PhD

I'm hoping to study the integrated masters 'mathematics and physics' (MSci). If I do well in this course, will I meet the requirements to do a PhD in either mathematics OR physics?
As stated previously, this will depend on the PhD projects in question and exactly what you covered on each side of the course. In general I imagine most physics projects would be accessible, some maths PhD projects may not be suitable if you hadn't taken particular modules (especially on the pure side of things).

PhDs are not like undergraduate degrees. It's not a degree "in general". It's a specific project which you need to match your background against. Having extensive background in theoretical cosmology would be of little use for a PhD on spintronic antennae. Having lots of background in algebraic geometry (probably) won't be of much use if you want to do a PhD project on stochastic processes.
