Your best ways to beat the heat and stay cool?

Hey everyone!

With the scorching summer temperatures upon us, it's crucial to find effective ways to stay cool and comfortable.

At our Answers Day event yesterday it got as hot as 28 Degrees Celsius. We kept our attendees cool with some free ice cream! :borat:

Check out these seven top tips to beat the heat and enjoy a refreshing summer:

1) Stay Hydrated: Hydration is key to staying cool. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to replenish lost fluids. Consider infusing water with refreshing slices of cucumber, lemon, or mint for a burst of flavour.

2) Dress for Breathability: opt for lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton and linen. These materials allow air to circulate, keeping you cool. Choose loose-fitting clothing in light colours to reflect the sun's rays.

3) Seek Shade: When outdoors, find shade under trees or bring along an umbrella to create your own oasis. Avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially during the hottest hours of the day.

4) Embrace Water: A cool shower or a damp towel on your neck and wrists can do the trick.

5) Strategic Fan Use: Position fans near windows to create a cross breeze in your home. For an extra cooling effect, place a bowl of ice in front of the fan to circulate chilled air. It's a budget-friendly way to beat the heat.

6) Light Meals: Heavy, hot meals can leave you feeling sluggish. Opt for light, refreshing foods like salads, chilled soups, fruits, and vegetables. These choices can help regulate your body temperature and keep you feeling energized.

7) Nature's Coolness: Seek out shaded areas in parks, gardens, or beneath trees. Nature offers a naturally cooler and more pleasant environment. Take advantage of these spaces to relax and escape the heat.

Remember to prioritize self-care and monitor yourself and others for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy a fantastic summer!
