Any recommendations for good distance learning providers?

I've been taking a couple of free courses (coding L2, cyber security L2) with Learning Curve Group and enjoying them. I was thinking of taking some paid, accredited courses with Learndirect but everything I see online says they're awful. Do you know any places offer distance learning accredited courses? I'm trying to upskill my IT skills, maybe get into a tech role.

@aleije
Hello, ICT is not my area but I have worked in education for over 10 years.

Have you looked at doing a 'skills boot camp'? They are 12 - 16 week courses which are designed to fast track people into skilled professions and their is big demand in ICT; coding, web security that sort of thing. I believe they are free if you are unemployed and some of the courses are free even if you are not. One of the adverts I saw suggested that they even help you find an interview with a local tech company

You might want to further professionalise your knowledge with an ICT degree or masters down the line at Arden University https://arden.ac.uk/our-courses/subject/computing-it

Hello Aleije,

It's great to hear that you've been taking some courses to develop your IT skills.

If you're looking for an accredited distance learning course in IT/Computing, we offer a range of Computer Science related degrees at the University of Huddersfield, all of which hold professional accreditations (BCS and NCSC). This includes a Data Analytics MSc where no prior Computer Science experience is required. You can find out more on our website: https://hud.ac.uk/inspire/masters-computer-science-distance-learning/

Good luck with you course search.

Best wishes,

Elliot
