Has anyone used Oxbridge home learning?

I might do some online A levels and I was thinking of using Oxbridge home learning, does anyone have any experience with this company and if so would you recommend it?

Just updating this post to help others who are thinking about taking the online learning route (2025) ~ please please research the provider thoroughly before giving any money (I can't stress this enough!). I wouldn't go with Oxbridge as the support was very minimal and tutors took ages to respond, NEC was a better provider but still not ideal if you need more support. Online courses require a lot of dedication and willpower, I found out the hard way that it's not easy to motivate yourself when studying alone. Another thing I didn't find in my research is that many colleges and unis offer online options for certain courses, this is a very good option if the distance is a problem for you. Good luck with finding a way to study that suits you! All the best

I'm currently with them doing a psychology A level and honestly, it would be better to just see what topics you would be learning and then buy the textbook on Amazon because that is all they give you. They give you zero support and the tutors take forever to respond to emails that you send them to, the tutor I am placed with is rude and snarky towards me in his emails and assignment feedback which makes me feel discouraged.

Oh that's a shame, I guess you wouldn't know if it's just him or everyone working there who's like that? Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I was outside of London for multiple months so i had no choice but to enrol to an online college when the school year started im doing 3 a levels and icl , its deffo not worth the money at all . the tutors take so long to respond and they aren’t that nice either overall the customer service isn’t the best . The materials are ok but textbooks are much better also many topics for bio a level are missing from them . I don’t have money to buy a private tutor cause they are so expensive so honestly i don’t know what I’ll do for my a levels lol .

Oh I'm sorry to hear you're having that experience, I went with Oxbridge to start with but they were rubbish so I canceled the course and went with National Extension College, they are more expensive than other providers but I think it's worth it. My tutor is really nice and she doesn't take very long to reply (I'm doing geography right now and hoping to add in maybe a history one too.) I hope you manage to work something out.

I know, it is really difficult to know what to do. If you do decide to do online a levels I recommend the National Extension College, good luck with deciding I hope it all works out for you.

That's such a shame, I think they just count on people giving up on their course and not getting a refund, they're definitely not a very professional provider. Good luck

Do not do it! i have wasted sooo much money. There are cheaper options that offer the same thing, more expensive does not mean better. I did philosophy and all they offered was online powerpoints that I didn't even use because they were so confusing to read, i've ended up just using youtube videos and online free notes to learn. They also have a grading system but the layout is so rubbish you cannot read the feedback, It doesn't seem possible to reupload edited work either. The only positive thing about the program is that you get marked work but it takes up to 2 weeks to get it marked and it's only 4 assignments per unit. You are far better off hiring a tutor, I feel soooo silly. If you are set on it, do not book your exam through them it is so not necessary to pay double the price, book sitting your exam alone it takes five minutes. Overall, it's not worth it, I payed like £700 or something for the course alone.

Thanks for that, to begin with I went with Oxbridge Home Learning but they were just rubbish so I canceled after two weeks, I then started one with National Extension College, they were much better but I found it hard to work in that style, unfortunately it's too late to cancel that course now. I'm currently studying with SRUC on one of their distance learning courses. For anyone looking for a course I'd recommend checking out universities and colleges as sometimes there are distance learning options. Good luck, I hope it all goes well for you!

I tried to study with them a couple of years ago, but ended up loosing all my money as they didn't provide me with any support and the staff were all so rude. Since then i've studied with Oxford learning college and open study college who are by far the best. I get great support and am finding my courses enjoyable.

I'm sorry to hear you were unable to get a refund, luckily for me the tutors showed how unhelpful they were from the start so I managed to cancel my course within the cancellation period. Wishing you all the best with your studies!

i'm currently doing 4 a levels with them and personally it's going super well. The tutors are super lovely but my english lit and psych ones are the absolute best, they sent me a lot of exterior references to help me get better grades. I will say though it's pretty hard to be diligent and disciplined with the work since it's all pdfs and videos. I took mainly essay based subjects so i don't know if it's different for others though.
Tutor support is there but only if you engage with them first, i generally communicate with them through calls and often send them short things i have written to get some additional feedback.
It IS on the expensive side, so while i find it worth it, it's definetly between me and myself to get the best out of it. It's a different system, and takes time to adapt, but i've personally been loving it.

I'm glad to hear that, unfortunately the learning style didn't suit me so I ended up starting a different course with SRUC. I hope your A levels go well! All the best

Do not use oxbridge or trust the above^. Please take a look at their negative reviews as well as they way they respond to them. They have a very heavy customer service team who deliberately try to "disprove" negative feedback in a nasty way. When I used them their resources were poorly created, had errors (as I had done a year in actual school before hand so knew the content). Their courses seem much more tailored towards BTECs and NOT Al Levels.

I managed to find a place in another school but realised that all my learning was done on my own; you quite literally need 3 resources (the textbook, one revision site and youtube e.g TL maths, Save my exams, PMT) and doing ALL questions (textbook and past paper), I struggle to learn in class but I am predicted A*A*A* due to just doing everything at home.

I would do it all home if I could but I would like to apply next year and you need accurate predicted grades from an official school. Practical endorsement can be researched then completed at a center (for a small fee). Do not buy into any of these A Level courses, they prey on people trying to get a better education and do not reveal their poorly made resources until you pay the hefty price (over 1500) after which you CANT get a refund as you have already used it.

Either go to an actual school (e.g a university center who specialises in foundation years, A levels, or btecs) or do it on your own. Going some place in person (like those centers), especially state supported ones is much safer as they cant hide behind the internet. Some centers require a fee to study but they are fully accredited courses.

Thanks for that I hope people see this before buying any online courses, I made the mistake of using Oxbridge but luckily realised it was rubbish before my 14 day money back period ended. I got a refund after some hassling, but personally I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I went on to use NEC, they were better but still not amazing, after all this I found an online study option with a college which is much better and I'd highly recommend looking at college and uni websites to see if they offer online options.

Hi. I am so glad I found this thread. I am looking for online options for A levels and found NEC but I haven't signed up. I can't seem to find online options from colleges or universities. Which college did you find an online study option with please? Can you point me to any you are aware of please? Thank you.
