Made to repeat year 10
I started year 10 and transferred to a UTC (stupidly). It wasn’t for me at all and I finally begged my old school to take me back in March of year 10, however they said to avoid me having to catch up on work in summer I would have to go in yesr 9 and then do year 10 over again. I did this, and my gcses went fine. However, looking back, could I have avoided this and managed to get a place in year 10, or are schools within their rights to choose who can attend/who can’t?

University technical college. Schools that start at year 10 rather than year 7
