I am starting a GEM course in less than 3 weeks time and have applied for my student finance. This is the third application I have had to make since May due to confusion over the amounts to be awarded (I am a UK home student so thought that it should be relatively straight forward).
I have again been awarded a maintenance loan but no tuition fee amount due to my previous degree (BSc Nursing).

I have called SFE this morning to query it and unfortunately staff (who sought advice from management during my call) have told me regardless of it being a graduate entry medicine (4 year accelerated course) I am not eligible at all for tuition fee loans. I have explained my understanding that it is a partial loan (£5785 rather than £9250) but that the first degree should be disregarded in the case of graduate entry medicine.

Is anyone else in the same boat or has this clause for GEM tuition fee support been changed recently?
Any advice will be much appreciated!
