Are you commuting daily/sometimes or staying?

There is no direct bus service from Slough to Hatfield that I can think of off hand, the nearest would be from either Uxbridge or Denham with the GreenLine 724 which goes then on to Rickmansworth, Watford, St Albans and Hatfield where for the UH deHav Campus, alight at Ellenbrook Lane which is at the Sports Village end of de Hav, or The Galleria a bit further on which is around five minutes walk from the front of deHav, and eight-ten minutes from the College Lane Campus. The 724 does not stop at The Comet Hotel, which is at the front of deHav and inbetween the E L. & Gall stops.

This may help which is Hertfordshire County Council`s travelsite:
https://intalink.org.uk
( Yes that is spelt Inta and not Inter!)

By train from Slough : presumably with the Elizabeth line changing at Farringdon then maybe again at Finsbury Park, as not all trains from Farringdon stop at Hatfield, or Paddington-King`s Cross or Finsbury Park (at Finsbury Park you have both the semi-fast trains from K X and the all stations Moorgate- Welwyn Garden City ones to choose from) or alight at Highbury for the Moorgate- WGC trains.
There are other options such changing to the London Overground at say Acton ? and then again at Highbury, but these are the most relatively direct I can think of. From North London the UNO 614 calls at Barnet ( around ten-fifteen minutes walk from the underground) Edgeware (about five minutes) and Queensbury ( by the underground).

Regarding the buses: the Government sponsored £2 anywhere in England single journey will continue to 31st Oct, where on it will be £2.50p until the latter part of 2024. Only a few operators are not participants, the Intalink site will list these.

Finally, for those of you not used to using Hertfordshire buses, please note that just about all stops are request only, so put up your hand clearly that you want the bus to stop ( it does say this on the bottom of the bus stop flags). Also make sure you have your student UH ID cards ready to show the driver as you board as this saves much valuable time when the bus is loading up.
Hope this helps.
