Can you get a refund on the Durham JCR Levy?

If I haven't paid for anything other than the levy and gown, is it possible to get a refund on the levy (specifically at John Snow) and pay the extra £10 for the gown, if I don't think I'll be attending enough events for the levy to be worth it?

The JCR levy at colleges go to events more generally. I cannot say specifically for John Snow, but at my college it was necessary to have them for things like the end of year ball. (I'm at another hill college). Though, from what I've heard the Snow ball was extremely competitive.

It's worth checking this directly with the Snow JCR as each college may have different rules.
