yup ur right!
imagine:
old temp:33
new temp: 32
you would want to know that temp decreased by one (the answer should be -1 since thats the change)
so new - old
32 - 33 = -1
!!!!!

edit: just to be clear temp means temperature i wasnt bothered to type it out >.<
