HCA adolescent psychiatric unit
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience working in a psychiatric forensic unit for adolescents as an HCA/HCSW/nursing assistant? What's it like? What are the day to day duties? What's your experience of it? I'm aware that working in a forensic psych setting is a bit different to other non-MH hospital unit when it comes to some of the tasks/duties.
I've attended an information session where they talked through the role, duties and responsibilities so I understand the basics, but I wanted to hear from someone who has lived and breathed the role and have uncensored insight into the position so that I can prepare myself. I don't like surprises!
I'm open to all comments -the good, the bad and the ugly.
