TUOLE Level 4 HNC in Electrical Engineering by online distance learning

Does anyone know if the qualification you gain from completing this course is a BTEC level 4 HNC, or something else?

On their website I cant see anything about it being a BTEC - It only says - Teesside University award delivered under licence from Pearson by Teesside University Open Learning (Engineering).

As it says, it is under licence from Pearson, you can check the pearson website to prove it. However, it is not a proper BTEC as I understand. I completed their HND 6 years ago. The certificate doesn't mention BTEC (if i remember correctly), just HND 'under licence from pearson' in small letters. I haven't had to use the certificate for job application yet. So, don't know how valuable it is.

I started an apprenticeship with 5 O levels with block release for ONC then with distinctions I took leave to go to city university. Upon return I transfered to R&D and with promotions and internal moves nobody ever asked me for my qualifications. I was just good at my job.

Hello,

Apologies for the late reply, however just wanted to jump in in case any future applicants are having similar questions.

You gain a Higher National Certificate, and on successful completion you can progress to a Higher National Diploma or directly into the second year of an appropriate degree at the University 🙂
