further maths gcse - teacher insists i stay

hey,
before the christmas holidays we were told that if anybody wishes to not continue further maths they could and so i went to my teacher today (he’s really stubborn and not approachable) and he persisted that I should stay and basically wouldn’t let me leave. I’m not naturally good at maths, just revised hard for my exams and so I was put into a higher class. I also did really bad on my recent further maths test. I don’t want to do the actual GCSE in fear that i’d get a bad grade and it would bring everything down. I also think it’s a bit useless because I don’t want to do alevel maths. My mocks are in february, should I see how I do in my february mocks and decide whether or not I should stop doing it then or should I speak to another teacher and demand for things to get sorted. I’m not sure what to do and my maths teacher is just really mean and unhelpful.
Get your parents to e-mail the school and say it's your decision? They'll respect them more.
