Cardiff University Accommodation

Am planning to go to Cardiff to study neuroscience in September. Any current students have opinions on which student accommodations are better? I'm looking to be self catered.

think you will find it easier to get advice if you go to a Cardiff University 2024
or 2023 thread - try your subject
( know there is one for A100 medicine, for example) or an offer holders’ thread

from memory, the Tallybont Halls ( more than one) are popular, but DYOR!

Hi there,

Current Cardiff uni student here! What are you looking for? En suite or shared bathroom? Social or more quiet? In the meantime, you can search for accommodation here.

Let me know and I'll give you some recommendations!

All the best,

Preferably ensuite, and looking for somewhere social but not having to share a kitchen with too many people.
Thanks

Did you look at the browse accommodation options here? Here are the options for undergraduate en suite Talybont is known as the most social accommodation options but can be loud into the night.

Hi! What would you say the stereotypes are for specific halls?

Hi!

Are there any specific accommodations that you're interested in? Generally, any of the Talybont accommodations (specifically Talybont South) are thought to be the more social accommodations - they're generally louder and more of a clubbing vibe, but this is the biggest accommodation. I'd recommend thinking more about what you're looking to get out of your accommodation, if you let me know your needs, I can recommend some.

Hi - thanks! What are the stereotypes/vibes surrounding:

- Aberdare
- Senghennydd Court
- Senghennydd Hall
- Gordon Hall
- Aberconway

Are there any halls that are kind of informally known as being quite snobby demographic-wise?

Hi again!

All of these accommodations are great options. I've heard that Aberdare is less social and quieter, as a female-only accommodation, but its location is great and I've not heard of any major problems. Senghennydd accommodations are also well located, I've not heard any stereotypes but have been there for pres a few times and it was quite good. Unfortunately, I don't have much more specific insight than that but I hope it helps!
