Online courses

Hi I’m currently in year 11 looking for possible online psychology lectures with Russel/Oxbridge universities but I’m having a bit of a struggle. Where exactly can I find free online lectures for someone of my age (16) when it comes to these unis?

Huh. I'd try YouTube but you're unlikely to find them there. Lectures these days tend to be recorded but they tend to be posted on the university's own platform accesible only to the students of the uni.

Universities will often put talks/seminar open to the public. It's worth checking to see what events are coming up on the university's website to see if there's anything relating to psychology in there and if the talk will be broadcast on zoom!

Hi there,

As said above, it's definitely worth looking on YouTube but often these will not be available to the public. I'd recommend trying to attend an open day as there are often sample lectures. Sorry, I can't help more.

All the best,

Hi there,

I have done a small research for you, and here is some resourses that might be of your interest.

The Russell Group has curated a range of free resources from the Open University on their platform called Jumpstart University. They have a section dedicated to psychology, have a look here: Jumpstart University | OpenLearn - Open University

Psychology.org offers over 15 free online psychology courses from various universities including MIT, Yale, etc.. These courses use self-paced learning through video lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams. Have a look here: Free Online Psychology Courses | Psychology.org

And yes, do not forget about good old YouTube. Here is the whole introduction course offered by Yale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3FKHH2RzjI&list=PL6A08EB4EEFF3E91F

Here is MIT's one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fbrl6WoIyo&list=PL44ABC9278E2EE706

Here is one about human behavioural biology posted on Stanford's youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNnIGh9g6fA

Let me know if you have any questions,
