Glasgow Uni software Engineering

Im currently in s5 hoping to leave after this year to do software engineering in uni, I applied for Glasgow Uni,Strathclyde and Edinburgh Napier. I have received offers from Strathclyde and Napier however my application from Glasgow uni was rejected because they “do not accept S5” applicants. Im pretty sure they didn’t say anything about that on their website or anything else. Has anyone else had the same problem? And has anyone in s5 received offers from them?

On their website it does say that offers aren't guaranteed to S5s. So I'd assume that's why, personally I've not heard of anyone who has had S5 offers for Glasgow either.

Hi, So I’m leaving university after S5 to study software engineering. I have a conditional offer from University of Glasgow, and I have selected it as my insurance choice. My firm choice is the University of Edinburgh. I was very surprised to receive 5 offers for all 5 Scottish universities despite only being in S5 with pending grades. Hope this helps answer your question.

Hi all,

Although I cannot talk about specific applications, with software engineering at Glasgow, applicants are required to Hold 6 A's (AAAAAA) at Higher. In most cases, students in Scotland are only permitted to study 5 Highers in S5. Therefore, most applicants to the programme will be required to obtain one more Higher in S6.

Our S5 minimum (AABB) is the standard applicants must be at by the end of S5. However, all applicants are required to meet the overall S6 requirements of 6 A's.

What if I don’t keep 4 highers in S5 but achieve 5 highers by the end of S6?
