Pharmacy or Pharmacolgy?

Hi everyone, I'm already a first year student at Uni in Pharmacology, however, I'm considering quitting Pharmacology and starting Pharmacy at another Uni. If anyone on here who is already doing MPharm could give me an overview of the things they are learning or have learnt or any advice then that would be useful, since I want to gather as much information about MPharm before making any decisions, thank you in advance :-)

Heyy I'm a pharmacy student at Keele.
Believe it or not, we actually learn quite a lot of pharmacology, and it's definitely possible to go into it after getting the MPharm degree. The advantage of Pharmacy is that you have a more clinical aspect, so a lot of focus on diagnosis, treatment and physical examinations, so keep that in mind. Send me any questions you have!

Hello! I do like the modules that I am doing currently on my Pharmacology degree, however I feel as though I'm missing the clinical aspect which is something I think I would like to learn and explore. What is the workload with assignments like alongside doing placement? Is it manageable or is it very intense?

I can't speak for other unis but at least at keele it is quite a heavy workload. It's still manageable so you have time to go out and socialise. And I think especially since you know a lot of pharmacology it will help make your 2nd year onwards easier cuz you need to think about pharmacology a lot. There's always a clinical aspect but it really ramps up in 3rd year where you're mainly focusing on it, with a little medicinal chemistry sprinkled in. You usually have a mix of both individual and group assignments (personally I hate the group ones) but you can take up to 3 extensions per semester (an extra 5 working days per assignment).
