Neurodivergent at UAL

Hi! I’m considering studying fine art at UAL, specifically CSM. As someone neurodivergent with autism and ADHD, I’m curious about the level of support available at CSM. If anyone has experience studying there, I’d love to hear about it. Thanks

Hi, hope you're okay!

With regards to support for someone on the autistic spectrum or possessing ADHD the route to go would definitely be DSA.

UCL do not appear to have their own Support Workers and through the DSA process you would be offered support with all or some of the following depending on your support needs:

Assistive software

Specialist equipment

Specialist one-to-one support

Travel

In terms of the DSA process, I think the below link would be really useful. It talks you through exactly how it works and what is offered:

As mentioned, when your Needs Assessment takes place one part of your support will be Specialist one-to-one support (Study Skills Support and Mentoring Support). As someone in the system and on the autistic spectrum I can make recommendations on how to get the best support without being dished out to a random large agency provider of support. Please message me if you would like to know more.

I look forward to hearing from you,
