AQA English Language NEA Topic

Hi!

My class has started the NEA coursework and I need to think about a topic for the language investigation. I want to analyse language from a TV show or movie. I like the more 'technical' side of the course looking at Grice's Maxims, the IPA, discourse markers, grammar in general, etc. I'd prefer to investigate either gender or accent/dialect. but I'm happy to write about anything! I just really need to sort out a topic as soon as possible.

Hi.

Reality TV programmes are such fertile ground for the kind of areas you're interested in.

If you've seen 'The Traitors' (UK, US and Australia), think about those round table discussions ... In fact, perhaps a comparison between the round table sessions in those countries would be interesting.

If you can be more specific about the kind of TV you're interested in, let me know.
