Sertraline side effects

I started sertraline (50 mg/day) yesterday for my anxiety. I am an IBS-D sufferer myself. Within hours of taking it last night, I felt very dizzy, nauseous and weak. I also had multiple loose bowel movements today. 20 hours have passed, the nausea has passed, but I am still feeling dizzy and my mind foggy.

Is this pretty normal? I will take the 2nd dose tonight before bed and am not sure whether the side effects would strengthen or lessen.

Could anyone advise?
Probably best to discuss with your GP, as that seems like quite significant side effects.

Yes, that can happen. I would give it a few days as many side-effects do tend to settle after a week or two. But obviously do speak to a pharmacist or your doctor if you are worried and things are getting worse.

I had migraine, runny nose and loose bowel movement yesterday, but my mood has somehow improved. I am not sure if it is merely a coincidence. I will pay attention in the coming few days.

Hey there! I've been on Zoloft (Sertraline) 50 mg for quite a while now, ordered from this trusted pharmacy: topsup24.com/buy-zoloft-uk.html and while it's been a game-changer for my anxiety, I definitely went through a rough patch at the beginning, too. The dizziness, nausea, and stomach issues like you're describing were pretty intense for me as well. It’s totally normal for these side effects to pop up, especially during the first couple of weeks. For me, what helped was sticking with it and reminding myself that this was just my body adjusting. I also made sure to take it after a meal to minimize the nausea and stayed hydrated to help with the dizziness.

If the side effects don’t improve after a week or two, you could talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage or switching to something else, but usually, the worst of it fades as your body gets used to the medication. Just hang in there and keep an eye on your symptoms!
