Id have thought there's more white people trying to act black then the other way round.

I was always accused of acting white at school. That was because i did my work, played an instrument, wanted to go to university and i knew slang but it didn't need to use it all the time to sound black. I knew i was balack so being somthing i wasn't would have been stupid.

since she wore her hair blonde, fake straight hair extensions to get rid of un-western curly negro hair or statred wearing blue contact lenses.

First of, I thought you meant fair in terms of skin colour, sorry for the mistake.

Her hair has always been straightened, so what if she opts to dye it, a number of white women choose to do that. Her blue contacts? a number of people regardless of colour opt for contact lenses (hazel, blue, green, etc.). What actually matters is the fact that she's never compromised her culture or heritage not her appearance.

Somebody once told me, "but you're not really black."

I hate the fact that if you're black and don't fit the stereotype those around you dis-count your heritage. But then again I'm quite fair, hate being outside :frown:.

Oh yes i love that. I must be wanting to be a white person because i want a better life for myself. I want to educate myself and not follow the same path as lots of other people that i've grown up around.

My mum grew up in Nigeria, my dad is Nigerian; I think that accounts slightly for why I'm academically oriented. But most of it is what you said just wanting more and better for yourself. I think everybody has the opportunity to do that regardless of race or ethnic background, just many choose not to unfortunately.

The people i went to school with, black "friends" although the black friends i have now are few and far between because by deciding not to be an actress or a musician i effectively isolated myself from my peers.

theres so many things i dont have to think about because im in lots of majorities, mainly white and male, and even that has too many things to think about sometimes.

I think we all take things for granted but i've always been in some sort of minority. I didn't notice it as much in London but at uni i notice it. It hasn't been made an issue of very much but its just something you feel. Also lots of people aren't used to socialising outside their own ethnic groups which effects the friends i make.

What I really hate is the expression "coconut" which asian people frequently used to call people who are "brown on the outside but white on the inside" It really really annoys me. I'm just me!

That's actually clever, annoying and racist though. I hate how certain traits are delegated to a particular race.

racism won't cease to exist until humans cease the concept of race's.

true
but then why arent black women attracted to white men?!

And why are there more white women-black men relationships than black women-white men counterparts?

I'm attracted to white men! I'm one of very few black women who are though.

Well, in the future we have to look forward to the humans-who-are-a-mix-of-all-races. (As seen on South Park, so don't quote me for accuracy.)

i havent read the whole of this thread.. but isnt it weird how asian people dont date black people either.. definitely a racial thing going on there
although there are going to be cases where it does occur its not common
white women date black men because they are well-endowed.
