Honest to God, I reckon this is one of the best TSR posts I have ever seen. I LOLed throughout reading this!

Oh... not what i had in mind,
I want to meet some people that're going before hand...
Hmm :\
Oh well, 4 days of socialising it is.
I'll lie in my Personal Statement and say it was amazing?

Waste of characters.
To all people attending Medlink/Medsim 2010/11:

ahh, your own sik will cover those stains, macca.

i always feel sorry for medsim kids, in that they are such poor appicants that they need to spend 10-20 times the resources others do to get into med school. if only we could spread the resources, then more people would be able to put in a decent application. But try telling my rich hall mate medics that, and they go off in a sulk to hide under the pile of hundreds of pounds worth of medicine books they've bought for no reason.

medsim is basically a way of selecting posh kids with big egos, no life direction and money to waste, putting them in a room together and laughing at the sheer waste of it.

the only bit thats missing is some gasoline and a match (plus lock the door on the way out).

Hey,

I've booked Medlink for December 2010, and was wondering if anyone on TSR are going? Just want to meet new people really. Also if there's anyone who has previously taken part in this course could give any advice or a brief of what it's like etc?

Thank you

Yeah I'm going with a few friends  We weren't sure if it was worth it and our parents didn't really want us to go but the biology teachers convinced us it was crucial. :frown:
Liars..
So the socialiasing thing sounds good  Might see you there, at least we get to meet new people

the scam of medsim is akin to taking a taxi to a pub in town, and then being charged £300 for the one mile ride.
And as the taxi driver is taking all your money, there is a plus side to console you though -

Medsim kids, in being posh and generally having more money, are likely to be more clued up as to the application process and the methods, by virtue of an extensive family of doctors, of its completion.

If they don't feel sorry for themselves why do it for them

most offspring of doctors steer well clear of medicine in my experience, macca.

Let us have a think about this yeah?

What ordeals did you have to go through to "get into" Medlink?

Nothing.

Nothing? None whatsoever?

You need to pay £300.

Wow. That must have been such a challenge. It must've have really stretched your academic abilities. Thank god you chose this instead of doing a week of pussy work experience. Pfft. Who needs that when you can "socialise with other med applicants".

But you get to do hands on surgery techniques and really cool shizzle.

That's good. It's not like they teach you that in med school.

etc...

over exaggerating. but still, one week of work experience > 10 billion med link/sim/other crap any day. :yep:

No and neither should you.

There are two things medical applicants should do instead of medlies/medscam:

1. Nothing
2. Anything else (with the possible exception of sexual offenses).

If you have already shelled out the cash and can't get a refund, look at the profanity strewn post on the first page. That's about the best way to enjoy Medlink.

For £300 you could have the most amazing night out possible in Nottingham :moon:
