Things are super competitive every year, even if you do have top grades doesn't mean you will get an offer, it sucks balls.

I've applied for french and Spanish at Durham, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Bristol and Cambridge..I have an interview for Cambridge but apart from that I've heard nothing so I'm starting to get a tad nervous! Eeeep!

PPE offer from Durham for 37 IB points came on the same day as I found out I had an Oxford interview -
just after they came through my school was closed because of snow.
needless to say, it was a fantastic day.

I have applied to do law at Newcastle, Durham, Liverpool and Manchester. Warwick is my insurance to do law and business.
I heard from Manchester today and they said i would be hearing from them shortly.

Want to go to Castle. Applied to St John's on a whim but had intended on Castle all along, really. :s-smilie:

I am hoping that I *MAY* be all right with it, as I have not been allocated a college yet, and most people don't get decisions until after Christmas.

Do you think it's a futile attempt?

Hmmm....it is a risk.

I mean if you weren't to get castle, would you be willing to settle with something other than St. Johns? If so, then go for it.

I think it is worth waiting to get allotted to St. Johns, and then asking to see if you can get your application forwarded to castle. I've seen someone do it that way on here.
