WJEC AS & A2 Chemistry

Hi!

I couldn't find a thread for WJEC Chemistry, so I thought I'd make one!

How's the revision going?

I'm sitting CH1, CH2 and CH4 this month :/

Maybe we could all help each other out, share resources etc....

At least someone feels my pain! It doesn't look as though WJEC is a very popular exam board on here :tongue:

Hey I'm sitting CH4 this month. :smile:

My CH1 and CH2 marks are really bad too - if I don't get 90% on CH4 then I'm gonna resit either one of the AS ones for an A, otherwise I'm gonna sit CH5 again to try and get an A*, but that will never happen!

The thing I don't like about CH4 (and CH2) is all the remembering of all the tests. :frown:

And I really dislike the polymers topic.

I like the proteins topic though.

CH5 is just a much nicer module tbh, dunno why I did so bad in it. :l

I'm resitting CH1 tomorrow. I really can't be bothered, but I suppose it makes this year easier. I got 1mark of an A last year though! Stupid WJEC. I'm supposed to be revising aswell I suppose but...... OH WELL

Section A - easy :smile:

Section B - not so easy :/

I knew some of the answers but couldn't put them into words, so I doubt I've had any marks for them.

I didn't have enough time to think about the questions properly.

I couldn't do some of the calculations on the last 2 pages. (Didn't know what value to use and had to use the 'fake' value they gave us in one of the questions because I didn't answer part (e).

I took a guess on one of the 'equilibria' questions and actually got it right!

My definitions were probably a bit sketchy.

I couldn't do the question with the '22.4 something something'.

Overall - meh :/

I did CH1 the other day as well. I thought up to q1 - 7 was alright but q8 and and 10 i messed up badly. Do you know if the wjec would take marks off or not giving them to you for writing in too much detail? I cant seem to get a good grade.

I don't know about you but I find the student guides on the WJEC website the best thing to learn. Its handy they contain everything we are suppose to know because they are written by the chief examiner.

Chemguide is good. Our teacher used to work with the man who made it, and so lots of his stuff is on there too :P So he complains if we print off Chemguide for our homework cos we all do it cos it's a good website, but he's sick of seeing it! Bless him. It's very good for CH4 though I would say
