Haha because erm Balliol is more competitive and super hard for PPE so  yeah... haha because its YOUR chalet (y)

ALSO Merton has specialists in Chinese politics, economics, history etc. so I can take those modules in 2nd and third year! IT was really tough though :frown: Balliol & Merton's tutors both do topics I'm interested in and I actually read one of the Balliol's book.

BUT in the end. Merton is pretty! also Univ is right next to the examination school so it gets super noisy during the summer... or so I've heard.

well, not yet ours, but I do hope it will be:smile:

Yes, Merton's architecture is beautiful from what I've seen. It's also really close to Univ, so stop by sometimes next year:smile:

Haha, I always thought about it as a way of not having to wake up early, since the examination school is right next to the college:biggrin::biggrin:

How often? This seems rather bizarre seeing as other universities don't do this?

No I think getting an offer for a course other than the one you applied for is not so unusual?
It must be a fairly common occurrence; of the people I know who have applied for History joint schools, three (of four) have got offers for single honours.

Someone from my school applied for Ancient & Modern History and was given a place for the normal single honours History  so it depends, I guess that the advantage of applying to a massive school like History, but there are also many more applicants than for some of the smaller subjects!

Which did prevent me from applying to some really nice colleges, but I don't think I'll regret it!

St Hilda's is lovely  I wandered through it last summer and it has the most awesome laid back atmosphere. The bit of it that is a warren of Oxford row houses is ridiculously cute and had people lounging around outside it in the sun on mis-matched chairs

Who negged you for that? I've noticed our random neg stalker has been making an appearance every few pages or so...

haters gonna hate :colonhash:

But seriously. SERIOUSLY?! I'd be worried about the glittery bits falling off, wouldn't you?! And most men I know says it looks stupid. God only knows what a woman would think if her girlfriend got one :lolwut:

I'd be worried about one falling off and ....getting stuck up there :nooo: (more horrific for heterosexuals though)

I think it's hilariously bad taste to be honest :dontknow:

Yeah, I have lots of free time to choose smileys as protistas are constantly failing to seduce me to get to know them better:biggrin: That's what I'm afraid of. If I get to know my fellow applicants I may like them and want them to get in...oh wait, if they do get in I won't

That's why you have the unique opportunity to solve the problem:wink:

 oh, those poor protistas must feel quite sad!

And yeah haha  oh well, surely coming from hell you wouldn't be able to like anyone? i thought demons are meant to be full of evil and hatred!

Fml, you're right, you're a sly one you are :ninja:
Whose seen the HAT paper from 2010? Just going over it now - it's so difficult to get to grips with!
