Chain rule isn't required for C2. You will come across it in C3.

Chain rule is C3 it deals with functions, within other functions i.e. f(g(x)) such as e3x

The first rule y=[f(x)]^n in chain rule of differentiation is similar to the no.7 one of c1 differentiation to me . Is there any difference between them??
Thank you !

Ps. Sorry, poor english :s

If you put f(x) = x in the first rule of the chain rule page you get the basic result you learnt for C1.

The "first rule" on the chain rule page is itself just a special case of the second line which is what most people learn.
