Is it true each of the examboards are renowned/specialised in certain subjects?

Edexcel offers more A level and AEA maths exam than any other examboard (it's basically the most popular for maths).
My physics teacher told me edexcel is the most renowned for all of the 3 A level sciences.
My question: Is edexcel the most renowned for A level maths and sciences??

The other examboards...
1) I've also been hearing about OCR being best for A levels in social sciences/ humanities because it's run by cambridge + oxford. Apparently, them unis are top in the country for degrees in social sciences/humanities??
2) Is AQA the most renowned for languages??
3) If all of the above are true, what does this mean for the remaining examboards?? WJEC and CCEA?

I probably wouldn't say 'Specalist' but some exam boards certainly have bigger reputations for certain subjects than others. Some of them create much more appealing exams/content than others.

E.g. I hear AQA Biology is not that great especially with a big hype over the Unit 2 not having enough questions about the actual syllabus
But exam boards don't really matter come universities in my opinion. I'm sure its more about academic potential than achieving 'XXX' Grade on AEA than AQA

Yh, I agree about some having a greater reputation than others.

Eg. More people like edexcel over OCR for physics because OCR have really dodgy questions and edexcel is more challenging.

I always assumed Edexcel maths was so popular because the questions tend to be really similar each year, so it's easier than other exam boards. :dontknow:
