Vegetarians - Eat a chicken to save a chicken

In front of you is a plate of chicken.

If you do not eat this chicken, another chicken will be killed.

What do you do, and why?

Don't eat the chicken 'cause I am a vegetarian

Eat the chicken, I'm a vegetarian too but that chicken is already dead, no need to kill another

So are you a vegetarian because you don't like the taste of meat?

I'd just let the chicken die. Wouldn't want to eat it.

The chicken is pretty insignificant anyway, saving that one wouldn't do much for the others.

Think of the poor orphan chickens!

Nope, never ate meat.

Never? How do you know you don't like it?

Id eat it. I eat meat occasionally anyway, I don't see the point in being overly principled about it.

Against animal cruelty and all that. Even if the animals are dead.

So you're against "cruelty" towards an insensible lump of flesh which at no point contained awareness approaching that of humans, and this aversion to necro-cruelty overrides similar sentiments towards the living chicken?

Oh come on, not another debate. I'm not going to eat/kill any chickens.

On the complete flipside, that's like me asking you would you eat a person to save a person.

One could argue that in the above situation you'd be doing either necessarily.

Well, the living person has greater worth than the dead one, so yes.

I'm not a vegetarian.
But if I was it would probably be based on aversion to cruelty, and therefore I would eat the dead chicken to save the live chicken.

Are you a human being? Why you've been trying to be kinda like horses or cows? Someone just brainwashed you? Don't you think a human like you is supposed to be omnivore?
