It has always been this way for CIE I know this system well because all we ever do for A-level in New Zealand is CIE. You can resit A2, but it has to be less than a year after you sat AS. But if you choose to resit AS, you have to sit A2 again!

What I fail to understand is how I can get an A* in Chemistry, whilst doing the whole A Level in 1 year, yet get a B in Physics A2 - which resulted in a B overall
