Is it possible to choose which paper i want to write for my A level?

I am a private candidate and I wrote the school where I am supposed to take my A level exam and they asked which paper I'd like to take for example
- Sociology (9699) Paper 1 and Paper 2 or Paper 3 and Paper 4 or all Papers

Is it possible to choose only 2 papers per subject? I never saw it anywhere when I did my research
Does anyone know anything about it ?

Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you've posted in the right place? Here's a link to our subject forum which should help get you more responses if you post there.

It sounds like you are referring to a CIE IAL in sociology? Looking at the syllabus, to obtain the full A-level you need to take all 4 papers. For the AS you just take papers 1 and 2. Perhaps your school is asking if you want to take all papers in one sitting or spread them over two exam periods (e.g. taking papers 1 and 2 in year 12 and papers 3 and 4 in year 13)?
