advantages and disadvantages of a double and single circulatory system?

Since this hasn't been answered already...

-> The double circulation has a higher blood pressure, higher heart rate, metabolites can reach the tissues faster, which will speed up all metabolic processes. So this would affect heat generation, muscle movement, excretory rates of toxins...

-> Blood pressure to the lungs can be lowered. If the pulmonary pressures were equal to the systemic ones, the tissues and blood vessels in the lungs would probably be damaged (They need to be very thin)

There are no advantages to using a single circulatory system

Just to be clear, what do you mean when you say "limitations of diffusion"?

If it's what I think it means, then the circulatory system will be able to supply nutrients to tissues inside the body, which otherwise have no hope at all of receiving nutrition just from diffusion alone.
