Seriously when I look at the culture, the arrogance, the swagger we had and how bad things have turned out I think its a damn shame tbh.
For me london will always be at the forefront when it comes to fashion and music etc but it seems we've lost our soul.
For instance look at the 90s and early 00s and then compare that era with our current era.
We had our own "fairly thriving music industry.
the drum n bass era,uk garage, the grime scene
There was a core underground element as well.
We had pirate radio stations, illegal raves,Soundsystem Culture and thats just the music.
The other thing we had was our own look, our own style. -
matching pattern Moschino outfits, Versace, Iceberg, akidemiks, ralph lauren polos, evisu jeans,D&G,burberry caps this was before the ('chavs' got hold of it), Nike TNs,Reebok Workouts, the odd new era hat, nike caps etc.
no one ever sported these brands the way we did in the 90s/early 00s
We even had a bit of a Car Culture -
when we all got our first cars people were getting the ****test cars and fixing them up. fitting new exhausts, big alloys etc, black tints etc.
We had our own slang, the cockney accent with the occasional black street slang word being thrown in
now what have we got
Hipsters with beards?
Wanna be essex boys with gel in their hair. /
there is no culture any more
who killed it
