Second of all, my point is tits aren't news and shouldn't be used to sell a newspaper. The fact that the female body (which I have) is used to sell a newspaper *is* objectifying.

I think his point is that the woman being pictured is completely fine with being objectified. You aren't the one in the paper. So if she's fine with it who are you to say otherwise?

I can't help wondering if in Murdoch's twisted, scheming, reptilian brain, this is meant to be some sort of evidence that he doesn't control the editorial policy of his newspapers. That's always a worry with the regulators. I suspect we will see him waving his hands in the air at some point soon, saying "I told them to ditch it, they wouldn't listen". Yeah, like hell.

I do think the Sun ought to be withdrawn from sale now from all family locations like supermarkets, they are peddling blatant porn.

I have actually been catcalled and had my arse pinched on numerous occasions, how much of a **** was given those days? Zero.

Luckily i don't have to use public transport, but back in the days i did, i didn't stare around looking for someone who was reading a newspaper / magazine to find something to be offended by.

I see women all the time ogling attractive men in their magazines / on the street etc never given it two thoughts before, i'm aware men are attracted to women and vice versa - Who gives a flying **** if some bloke on the bus is reading the sun and skims past a pair of tits or if some women is drooling over a shirtless guy.

It is, it really is! To look at a woman and think "wow she is hot" is perfectly fine. As a species our very survival has hinged upon this sexualisation, if we had not sexualised each other in the past then YOU would not be here.

When you see someone you have never spoken to and do not know, it is perfectly natural to judge their looks. We cannot think 'oh what a wonderful person with great personality', we do not know WTF their personality is like or if they are a wonderful person.

P3 does not show sex just partial nudity, there are so many ridiculous taboos about nudity in society. The human body is without doubt the most impressive piece of kit any of us will ever own.



It doesnt make someone sexist because they appreciate a pair of tits! Some woman are comfortable with their bodies, proud of their body and wish to show it off. Some woman find this empowering and some men are happy to look and appreciate it too. I fully support a womans rite not to wear scanty clothes and to define their self worth through their jobs, personality or whatever else. You have to remember that is not a representation of ALL woman though. Some woman care more about aesthetics. If feminists really want all woman to have choice then these woman should have their choices respected too!

It is interesting that it is only the "female form" which is recognised as a "thing of beauty" in that newspaper. In addition, I am sure that objectifying the representation of naked women (who men are not likely to ever meet) in a national newspaper is going to aid in survival of our (most dominant mammalian) species.

I don't think it is porn - it's not really designed to be sexually arousing. It's not like anyone takes the Sun into the shower with them.
