I don't know if anyone else does this (would like to know if you do) but I always say "if I manage to do this then it will happen". It's hard to explain but for example I'll say " if I get across the road before the red light goes off he likes me back" or "if I manage to go upstairs and get my glasses before the microwave hits 0 then I passed my test".

I don't know if you understand what I mean but this pretty much how I've got through my daily life for as long as I can remember. Absolutely everything I do in life is a way for me to predict the outcome of something else. So I was just wondering if anyone did this !
