LSE Offer Holders 2016

I got an offer for the MSc in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation. I will accept it. Anyone else in that programme?

I am enjoying my course, and I'll enjoy it even more in my second year when I have more choice over my direction.

Currently I am studying (lent term):

LSE100 - A module all first years do, to be honest it is a bit of pain
EC102 (Economics B) - Not too difficult and a lot of fun
GV101 (Political Science) - Very intuitive, a lot of reading but on interesting topics
GV100 (Political Theory) - Basically philosophy, my least enjoyable subjects but many people really enjoy the deep and important questions.
MA100 - More difficult than MA107 and had to ask my department for the switch to MA100. Very large workload and important not to fall behind! But I do enjoy maths in general.

The workload is huge!! It is manageable as long as you don't fall behind and there is still time to go out to clubs at least twice a week.

There is very little student support handed to you, but if you simply ask - your teachers will be willing to sit down 1 on 1 and talk through any problems you have in an "office hour'". The lecture quality varies greatly and put simply, the less quantitative the subject, the greater the lecture. Teaching quality is good and each teacher has a very different style, some will suit your needs better the others.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the response! Do you have any tips of how to ace work and revision and how to manage the workload? And which clubs have you joined/how have you found them? Also, how is the social life there, and freshers week? I've heard a few things floating about saying that it really isn't social over there:/

The key is to do the readings and turn up, it sounds stupid but there is very little short-term incentive to do so. Also, read over what you learnt in lectures or it will go in one ear and out the other.

I joined Econ Soc, Conservative society, RAG, United Nations and a couple of others. They are good, great for socialising and most societies just go to the pub - never a problem!

The social life is good, and is what you make of it. I live in quite social halls (Bankside) and most nights there are people going out etc. There aren't many cliques, only between East Asian students.

AOh okay, so is accommodation given on a 'first-come first-serve' sort of basis? and Do you know if roseberry and carr saunders are social halls too? I'm thinking of where to apply between the 3

Do you know which one is better for social life? Is High Holborn that bad?

I can't comment that much as I've only stayed at bankside. However, generally the cheaper halls have a better social life. High Holborn is very foreign but I don't know more than that.

Did you enjoy your time at Bankside? Like good for meeting ppl going out etc? And for the 2nd and 3rd years you have to rent a flat with your mates?

Ahh okay, and do you normally get to mingle with people from other halls or is it just usually those who are in yours?
Also, something else i wanted to ask was that I haven't done government and politics for AS/A level so will I be at a disadvantage compared to other people on the course who have done it/ will i find the politics modules harder as i haven't really done any AS/2 theory?

Umm, generally you hang out with people from your halls in my experience. The only exception is if you make some close friends from classes or societies.

I hadn't either. You are at no disadvantage at all.

You most probably will have to share with someone else - graduates are given priority for single rooms there :3

4 of my 6 choices were Bankside - as I imagine are most other peoples'
Lillian Penson Hall is a perfectly decent backup tho'.
