how much does your bill cost when you take out your s/o or date

around how much on average? and how often?


idk if it should be normal that most my money goes on restaurants with my gf. we're 17/18 and probably go somewhere a bit posh and rack up £60 bill every fortinight, and at least weekly go to like a cheaper turkish/indian place, or like gbk or five guys and spend about £30 quid. so thats like £120 every two weeks.


we dont have a place to live in to cook our own food sadly.


and how much do posh gourmet resteraunts cost usually for two people? we wanna go in our anniversary since we havent been before.

Post gourmet restaurants don't always mean great food. I've been to a local Indian and been blown away on a 60 quid dinner, and I've been to Claridges and been sorely disappointed with a 200 quid lunch. I lived in Dubai for 6 years and frequented some of the best restaurants there, nothing ever came close to a little food stall in Times Square mall called "Delhi's Deli" who would give you an orgasmic paneer makhani and the lightest, melt-in-the-mouth naan bread for 12 dhs (about £2.30).

While it's nice to go somewhere that has "class", don't just go for something expensive and assume it'll be better.

If you tell me what your area is, or if you might want to go to a particular area, I may be able to give you some recommendations. Remember, you can always pair a meal with something else like theatre tickets or comedy nights.

(And by the way, the best romantic meal I ever had was a picnic in Hyde Park - I spent around £60 on cheeses, a bottle of bubbly and other finger nibbles.) Remember you're in love with each other, not your food. So make sure you have a day where the food and/or activities are the "cherry on top" to you spending time together.

yeah ive been to french resteraunts and english and all that, the cuisines that cost the most. the food itself is always a hit and miss, sometimes i would be lucky enough to order something that does actually taste nice but even then the portions arent near as big enough to fill me up, and id buy a burger afterwards.

the upside is that these french and english resteraunts are always cosy and have a great atmosphere, which is my main attraction towards them. also because i want to discover more and more of these higher end resteraunts since i was never able to (my friends cant afford it, plus still young [18]). theyre just really nice places to hang with gf, and a good experience too.

i live in central london pretty much, so definitely have loads of options. if you do have any recommendations it would be very nice of you to share, cheap places or expensive. thanks!
