You'll be fine! I only focused on Abigail and Elizabeth so I'm not sure if I answered it correctly :frown:

For AIC I included stuff about stage directions and how the doorbell interrupts mr Birling so there is conflict between him and the inspector (socialism vs capitalism) and I talked about conflict between the young and the old generation but I forgot to include different interpretations :frown:. Do you think it was really important to do that or can I cover up for it in the unit 2 exam and still do well.
Oh man I don't even know how I did:
I did LOTF and OMAM,
For the LOTF, I did the second question and just went on about Piggy's glasses for aaaaaages! I don't know if I've accidentally summarized the book, so yeah...I also said something about the actual LOTF, but then the invigilator said 45 minutes left and I ran to the next question...

Then for OMAM, I only wrote a paragraph (3/4 of a page) for the first question because I had no idea how to spread out the marks. The last question though :h:

So yeah, dunno how I did!
Ikr!! I totally f***** that up!!

I wrote 10 pages in total in the whole exam. What about everyone else?
So happy with this exam! Felt really fast and honestly quite easy.

Mock: A*
Prediction: A

Inspector Calls:
Easy question on the relationship between Gerald Croft and Sheila throughout the play. Noted that the relationship begins to break down as Sheila finds out that Gerald has had a mistress etc.

OMAM:
Pretty good question on Steinbecks way of leading up to the death of Lennie. Noted that he creates nostalgia by visiting the lake, emotional connection between reader and finally the rushed killing of him.

(b):
Only had 10mins to do this, didn't budget my time well enough. Stated the american dream relative to the time the novel was set, a lot of immigrants at that time wanted the American Dream, saw that its obtained by work Referenced why Lennie was so focused on that, further reinforced by stating Candy also jumped on board - willing to give lots of money after only knowing them for a day.

Did 9 pages, dropped marks on part (b) 100%
After Eng Lang CIE I was dreading this :P!

Some predicted questions here done by my school. For AIC and OMAM. The OMAM one is quite picky but my teachers reckon that as it is the last year, the question could be about theme rather than character. Other OMAM predictions include nature and Curley.

Thank you so much for posting this! I only do of mice and men and did the practise question yesterday and the part b question came up! Thank you so much

I felt like I did so well with AIC... but that was because I spent far too long on it. I had like 10 minutes left to write an essay on part B OMAM

I done the exam last year in June 2015 and I had 11 minutes to read the passage and write both part (a) and part (b) for of mice and men, and I almost got an A* in that same exam! Don't worry.

I did the same thing as you, but I also did conflict between Gerald and Sheila based on levels of morality. I didn't really do alternative interpretations, don't really think it's a key criteria? I'm sure you'll do really well, I'm happy with my inspector calls section (but omam was a little disappointing for me)

how many paras did u write? Because I wrote 2 long paras which included a point for each and then i brought 2-3 evidences for each and explained them? idk....
i only wrote 6 sides in total for the whole exam...i feel like that isnt enough

6 is more than what i wrote last year and I almost got an A* last year in unit 1, and i only spent 11 minutes on of mice and men section and misread the question for part (a) lol.

I wrote 8, four for Woman in Black, four for OMAM.

I'm so unsure of how I did in OMAM, I wrote very different things to a lot of other people. I wrote about how the voices created a crescendo to Lennie's death and how the men being "much" closer showed how the time was quickly running out for George and how he wished he had more time. I also wrote about how "crashing" illustrated the crashing of George and Lennie's dream and suggested carelessness and it all happening very fast and other bull... I also wrote about Curley's wife and Slim for part B! Did anyone else do the same?

I probably got 30/30 for Inspector Calls last year, because I was 2-3 marks away from an A* and I only spent 11 minutes on of mice and men + misread part (a) question, so no way I got higher than 20 on it.

I embedded a lot of quotes, explained the stuff in detail and done alternative interpretations for every, or almost every, quote.

Thank you . I was going to write about Gerald and Sheila as well but I ran out of time. Yh, did not like the omam extract at all and I had hardly enough time for part b but oh well.
I did question 17 for AIC I thought it was disgusting but I was able to write enough detail and talk about society and Priestley both characters and how their relationship changes.
I did OMAM it was good I talked about George taking his time and trying to help reciting the American Dream the reader feeling sympathy for Lennie and other stuff. Talked about the American dream for Curley's wife and Lennie and the conclusion about the name of the story and how it begins with dream and ends with it. Society in the 1930s.

I said about how Steinbeck presented George's movement in a list to show time slowing down and that represents the death of their dream and also the imagery of the 'calm winds' show how the death of Lennie will 'restore' peace on the ranch? TBH i had no idea but yeah for part b i only had like 10 mins left so was rushing like CRAZY! and i wrote about Curley's wife the sexism at the time… but it was a lot of bs tbh i failed so bad :frown:

You wrote 8 pages in total?

I done the exam last year and wrote 5-5.5 in total and only spent 11 minutes on whole of mice and men section + misread part (a) for OMAN, and I was 2-3 marks away from an A* in unit 1 (I presume I got 30/30 for Section A Inspector Calls).

if you wrote 8 pages then you definately will get a good mark, if what you wrote is good, and it sounds like it is.
And I embedded some of the quotes but I analysed more to get the top marks

How much did you write for part (b)? Because part (a) and (b) is marked as a whole, not seperately, so if you even done more for part (a) and it's good then you'll get a decent mark. If you were running out of time I would have mixed part (a) together with (b), so that you answer both and get the marks as it's marked as a whole.
