Well the CNN is available in England.

How am I american. I am british

CNN...

Yes it is available but as you see, two people have already mentioned your use of CNN rather than say the BBC (which is actually a much-loved, and often targeted, target of British Brexiters and conservatives and alt-rights).

which term?

Globalists and all socialists
not to speak of the Illuminati, Bilderberg, Soros and - of course - Richard von Coudenhove Kalergi
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_von_Coudenhove-Kalergi

until now, he had managed to remain under the radar screen, but now we know who is to blame

Socialism

Could you elaborate, what exactly does that mean?

The supranational elements of regionalism are not often liked, as they interfere with the sovereignty of nation states, see the factortame case for an example of how the EU started to overrule the power of our own parliament.

Additionally, the democratic deficit led to a belief that we no longer had control in our country, the EU is controlled by multiple old white men who were not elected (often only in that position after failing to get elected). Furthermore, the European parliament sees dismal turnouts of as low as 13% (and is declining), and it cannot even propose legislation, only vote on what the commission sends, very much like the spartan style of government, but instead of shouting to vote, they do so in a more civilised manner.

This makes people feel (I believe rightfully so) that the EU has 'taken our country' by taking away our sovereignty (regardless of domestic issues) and by doing so without any mandate.

Socialism

And what makes you think that? Because a socialist didn't agree with the EU?

First of all I would like to thank you for giving me a coherent answer rather than just leaving a comment along the lines of 'stupid liberal'. Secondly, thank you for explaining.

But do you see any way in which the EU's governing system could be improved, possibly by electing more officials and having regular elections to change them. If this was the case would your view change or are there more factors than just the governing of the EU?
We're not stupid. Most regular joes who use that phrase have no idea what the complex economics is behind the EU and are referring to immigrants

I'm not saying that. I understand the wording was somewhat patronising. However I'm curious as to what that statement means to people individually.

I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the clowns who voted leave and keep using that phrase so they can shield themselves from accusations of xenophobia and racism when that is exactly what it is. The brexiters have managed to shut us all up by saying that "it's 2017, racism doesn't exist".

Sorry, I skim read your comment and interpreted it wrongly, forgive me. I do agree that denying racism, was quite the issue especially days after the vote was announced.

I find this one particularly interesting.

Trump does it a lot. His whole "you're fake news" is the same idea as "we are not racist". It's "you are just calling us racist" or "you are saying that about me" because you don't like me.
To be honest I'm a little interested in this discussion. I've a modest idea about the devolution of laws and the judicial systems in the EU, so don't take me for a foolhardy who doesn't understand his place on the issue, but I'm curious as to what others consider about the idea of taking Britain back.

I'll say I'm nonplussed on the issue for the sake of saying it, and I'd like to ask: Could anyone state what they intend to take back, with regard to Britain of course?

It's ironic because there was a spark in hate crime after the vote and brexiters were still saying "nope we're not racist or xenophobic at all".

I think there was less racism and more xenophobia.

Trump has basically said anything that doesn't agree with him is fake news. I also found it quite disgusting the way he doesn't talk to and shuts down free speech of those media outlets. He's a childish man who' exercising his thirst for confirmation bias.

There is quite a fine line between xenophobia and racism, I think it was a mixture of both.

This is exactly what I had in mind when I asked the question but some saw it as 'someone asking something possible negative about brexit, eugh liberals'
