Hahaha, nice joke. You should be a comedian

You can buy property if you aren't a millionaire or someone with rich parents
More and more job opportunities as businesses move out of London to lower costs
Friendlier people
Cheaper pints & food
Cheaper public transport
Cheaper rent
Tap water tastes better
Less crowded
More diversity. We have several thriving cities. Everything down south is London centric.

They're like separate countries. If you've spent a lot of time living in 1, it can be very hard to adjust to living in the other.
They are equal

I once read a theory saying the North of England was more contaminated from Chernobyl than the South, which explained why it was more backwards.

Ahh don't worry I was just joking. I just prefer the London city lol I lived in Yorkshire for around 5 years so I''m aware of what its like, I liked it at first but I didn't like it after a while.

Midlands is the best..... probably after that the north, people are much friendlier and far less snobby. The only good thing about about the south is london as there's lots to do and all the hustle and bustle. The Southern Towns and Villages are just... well... unfriendly.

And the southerners who've started to recently move to midland villages (because they've started to realise it's far more affordable for houses twice as large compared to down south) are just completely unable to socialise.... or they just don't bother. I've already had two sets of southerners who moved to my village 5-10 years ago, who exclaimed with surprise that they didn't know there was a pub in the village :colonhash: YOU'VE LIVED HERE 5+ YEARS!!!! There's only about 500 people (kids included) in the damn village!

You were doing well until diversity and tap water (weird comparison). The South is way more diverse than the North

I actually cannot stomach the tap water in the South, it's a serious issue.

Basically the more North you go the purer and fresher the tap water.

It's a bit of a midlander/northerner joke that if you go to london the tap water will give you the squirts.

By the north I mean anyone north of Cambridge.

Do you believe Southerners are better?

Define 'better'.

Southerners (warning: stereotype follows ..) can't drive on more than 1mm of snow. Northerners with 1'+ of snow have to see the news focus on the SE grinding to a halt with trace level of the stuff.

Better in the sense that they are superior to those in the north.

Loool thats definitely stereotypical hahaha

Yes, can confirm.
My thoughts on this:

-The south often gets a bad rep because of London. I feel that outside of the commuter belt, the south is really not all that different from the north/midlands. Most of the negative stereotypes attributed to the 'south' are really just London stereotypes.

-If you have a skill set which is in moderate or greater demand, one's quality of life will be best outside of the south east. The amount of money you can save each month relative to living costs makes SE/London not economically viable. I'm truly amazed by the amount of young people who choose to work in London, with very poor levels of monthly saving.

-The economy/housing situation of the deep-south/south west is not really very different from the north. Housing costs/wages/etc on the southern coastline (with the exception of places like Brighton) are very similar to the north.

-The midlands would be my favourite place, best of both worlds IMO.

The Commuter belt is a massive chunk of the south in all honesty.

Surrey, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire all share that bad rep.

I think it's when you start to go south west, aka Cornwall, Devon and Bristol etc that it starts to get better.
People from the South East can be asses alot:colonhash:

But come on guys, us peeps from the South West are the friendliest around and we got all the animals in the world:woo::hugs:
