So I'm doing Edexcel GCSE History. The topics are Weimar Germany, Crime and punishment and Elizabethan England. I have Germany and crime and punishment in my mocks that are coming up and I'm really stuck on what to do to revise.. History is the only subject that I'm struggling with to revise, does anyone have any tips?
I create knowlege organisers to condense the information down and then I create flashcards from that and memerise it. We have different titles for each box, they normally consist of: Key Dates Key People Key Events Key Words and then other titles that might be relevant to the topic.
I think they have all of those topics on Seneca Learning. It's good because you`ll have notes and also loads of practice questions for each topic! Worth trying the website. You can also do "braindumps", and basically try writing everything you can remember without checking books. Basically forcing your brain to remember stuff.
What I would do is go through each chapter of the History book and type up questions and answers for each chapter (so like a digital flashcard). I would then re-write the questions and answers as flashcards - and then keep looking over them and testing myself.
I also found writing out key information from the chapters and highlighting notes helped with attaining and enforcing information I needed for my exams.
Once you have revised everything you need to - keep doing practice questions! This will help you prepare answering questions for the real exam, and will help you realise what you are good at and where there are gaps.
And most importantly - believe in yourself! I prepared and revised for GCSE History in five months and managed to get an A. With hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

Best tip to improve is once you know the content, practise linking. Say how one topic can be linked to another, which links to another, and so on. That’s the kind of stuff you need to be understanding for top grades.
