What are the main policy differences between and within political parties in the UK?

Honestly not much. The parties in the UK have become a mostly homogeneous blob of incompetence and stupidity doing their best to win a overblown popularity contest by appeasing to the apathetic, uninterested, fickle and soemtimes uninformed electorate. If i ever wanted an argument as to why modern demoncracy is a unless excersise i would use the UK as a case study.

They differ on a few issues which they then use as their platform to try and win the afforementioned popularity contest. Brexit is the current hot topic. But ultimatetly any of the differences between the parties are as a result of political grandstanding/maneuvering rather than conviction.
Labour have lurched to the left dragging the Tories with them towards the centre ground.
Liberal Democrats are capitalist right wing under the fake vail of claiming they are left wing.
Labour are supposed to be socialists with nationalist agenda and group responsibility funded by the working classes.
Conservatives are supposed to hold traditional right wing individual responsibility and are funded by the very wealthy.

Brexit party are a single issue party led by a right wing with ideals very close to the conservatives.
Greens are bonkers, plain and simple.
UKIP are close to far right nowadays

Then the nationalist parties are protectionist
